FAQS

TeaCrine® supplies the Energy To Perform. Our FAQs provide information on how TeaCrine differs from other energy ingredients, including IP.

How is Theacrine (as TeaCrine®) different from caffeine?

Theacrine (as TeaCrine®) has energy boosting effects similar to caffeine without the jitters, crash, and habituation that often accompanies caffeine. The energy boosting effects of theacrine have been experienced to last hours. While theacrine is very similar in molecular structure to caffeine, it is very different when it comes to actions.

Tolerance to caffeine builds much more quickly than to theacrine. A caffeine tolerance can form in four to five days, while a 60-subject human clinical study on theacrine (as TeaCrine ®) showed daily use for eight weeks without any tolerance forming. Theacrine produces consistent results every time.

Theacrine doesn’t lead to a crash or sleeplessness. While people enjoy the energy boosting effects of caffeine, the substance is often associated with an unpleasant "crash" wherein energy fades and mood falls. Caffeine’s stimulating properties can also make it difficult to rest following a workout or to fall asleep. Theacrine’s unique mechanisms of action do not lead to the same energy and mood crash or cause the same difficulties falling asleep.*

Theacrine doesn’t lead to jitters: Athletes can take TeaCrine® as a pre-workout energy booster and return to a state of calm rest afterward, without the jitters and restlessness related to caffeinated pre-workout stimulants. The energy lasts for hours, which can be particularly suitable for athletes competing in longer events such as baseball, soccer, hockey, golf and many more. This gentler action makes theacrine a unique option for anyone looking for a safe energy source with no known negative side effects. Theacrine (as TeaCrine ®) is free of WADA-banned substances and certified by Informed Choice and Informed Sport.

Combining theacrine with caffeine is complementary; many report a synergism between the two. When combined, theacrine is reported to potentiate, enhance and extend the efficacy of caffeine.* Commonly observed effects also show that it can help minimize the limitations of high-dose and chronic caffeine use.

In addition to the differences outlined above, theacrine can help consumers throttle up or down as needed (auto-regulate), delivering a smooth lift that's not followed by a crash.* This “lift” has been described as a smooth increase in energy, clean focus, enhanced concentration and drive by early adopters of theacrine (as TeaCrine ®).*

What does nature identical mean?

Also called "bio-identical," Theacrine (as TeaCrine®) is the biochemical equivalent of the molecule that occurs naturally in the food supply in the form of tea leaves and fruits.

Is Theacrine (as TeaCrine®) a DMAA or AMP Citrate replacement?

No, Theacrine (as TeaCrine®) is not a DMAA or AMP Citrate replacement. TeaCrine ® does not raise heart rate or blood pressure and is not a stimulant. The ingredient is a safe, effective option for customers seeking a highly differentiated, innovative ingredient that will provide formulations with clean energy.* Theacrine (as TeaCrine ®) does not create the sense of euphoria, but sense of improved energy, focus, mood and motivation.

Is Theacrine (as TeaCrine®) Informed-sport and Informed-choice certified?

Yes. Informed-Sport and Informed-Choice are globally recognized quality-assurance programs that certify that specific lots of food supplements and ingredients are free of banned substances found on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List, as well as lists from organizations such as the NFL, NCAA, and MLB. The standard supplement-screening test covers 146 substances that are prohibited in sport. Theacrine (as TeaCrine ®) is both Informed-sport and Informed-choice certified.

What should I expect when combining Theacrine (as TeaCrine®) with caffeine?

When combined, Theacrine (as TeaCrine®) is known anecdotally to potentiate, enhance and extend the efficacy of caffeine.* Commonly observed effects also show that it can help minimize the limitations of high-dose and chronic caffeine use such as crash, jitters and habituation.*

What should I expect when using Theacrine (as TeaCrine®) in isolation?

In addition to the differences outlined above, Theacrine (as TeaCrine®) can help consumers throttle up or down as needed (autoregulate), delivering a smooth lift that's not followed by a crash.* This lift has been described as a smooth increase in energy, clean focus, enhanced concentration and drive by early adopters of Theacrine (as TeaCrine ®).*

Is Theacrine (as TeaCrine®) patent protected?

Patents protecting the formulation of Theacrine (as TeaCrine®) (both bioidentical and extracts from natural botanical sources) and its usage as a dietary supplement and food and beverage ingredient have been filed. Patents are currently pending.
