Cognitive Endurance

Meets Physical Endurance

Independent researchers tested theacrine in vivo to measure the effects of the compound on locomotion and to determine its mechanism of action. Results, which were printed in an open-source journal, proved positive for increased locomotion.* Theacrine (as TeaCrine®) researchers followed up these studies with two human clinical pilots that demonstrated Theacrine’s (as TeaCrine®) effectiveness at increasing energy levels and combating fatigue.*

TeaCrine®’s unique ability to enhance performance in one safe, non-habituating ingredient has been proven in four separate human clinical trials.*

The human clinical research manuscripts are titled:

  1. The effects of Teacrine®, a nature-identical purine alkaloid, on subjective measures of cognitive function, psychometric and hemodynamic indices in healthy humans: a randomized, double-blinded crossover pilot trial.

  2. Safety of Teacrine®, a non-habituating, naturally-occurring purine alkaloid over eight weeks of continuous use.

  3. Assessment of the Drug–Drug Interaction Potential Between Theacrine and Caffeine in Humans.

  4. The Effects Of TeaCrine And Caffeine On Endurance And Cognitive Performance During a Simulated Match in High-Level Soccer Players**

    **Anticipated publication Nov 2017

We tested the effects of TeaCrine®, a nature-identical purine alkaloid, on subjective measures of cognitive function, psychometric and hemodynamic (blood pressure)
indices in healthy humans in both pre-clinical and human clinical studies.*

Over a 3-hour period, two human clinical pilot trials with healthy participants
showed a statistically significant:

  • Increase in energy without jitters, irritability or habituation
  • Increases motivation to exercise
  • Decrease in feelings of fatigue
  • Increase in mental energy

The study also gathered data on safety and tolerance biomarkers, including heart rate and blood pressure. The second study revealed similar results to the first study while indicating that larger doses were not needed for optimal effects. In fact, the following study results show participants received benefits at a relatively low dose (200 mg).

Mean values for N=6, 7-day repeated dose study (200 mg TeaCrine)

Effect Size of 200 mg dose of TC over course of 7-day repeated dose study relative to baseline on: Energy: 0.63, Motivation to Exercise: 0.58, Concentration: 0.60

Effect Size of 200 mg dose of TC over course of 7-day repeated dose study relative to baseline on: Fatigue: -0.64, Anxiety: -0.59, Libido: 0.71

Whether you’re interested in physical sports, eSports or cognitive/nootropics, the data in our two studies investigating TeaCrine® used in conjunction with caffeine show TeaCrine® is beneficial across all of these categories.*

  1. Caffeine co-administration increases the peak plasma concentration

  2. Caffeine co-administration increases the total dose exposure (area under the concentration curve) of TeaCrine®

  3. TeaCrine®'s half-life is more than than 4x greater than caffeine

  4.  No adverse impact on blood pressure, heart rate, irritability or jitters from acute dosing of TeaCrine® at 125mg

  5. We have now assessed, confirmed and validated the absorption, metabolism and excretion dynamics (pharmacokinetics) of TeaCrine® consumption
    in humans

  6. TeaCrine® (125mg) added to Caffeine (150mg) during physical exercise demonstrated synergy with improved performance on choice reaction time
and accuracy over caffeine alone (even at 275mg).

  7. TeaCrine® (125 mg) + Caffeine (150 mg) may improve alertness, selective attention, information processing and neuromotor performance compared to caffeine alone or placebo as measured on complex choice reaction time test with distraction.

  8. TeaCrine® (125 mg) + Caffeine (150 mg) may augment exercise capacity and physical endurance compared to caffeine (275 mg) alone or placebo as measured in a time-to-exhaustion test under fatiguing conditions.

  9. TeaCrine® (125 mg) may improve sustained focus under fatiguing conditions when added to caffeine (150 mg) compared to caffeine (when at 275mg)
    or placebo.
